Here are a very pictures from Spain. I hope you enjoy.
This is the statue of Don Quixote de la Mancha (and Sancho Panza) in Plaza de EspaƱa, Madrid. While I was in Salamanca I found a scale reproduction of it. I bought it and now I have to figure out how to get a small statue of Don Quixote home. :)
Templo de Debod - Yes, they even have Egyptian ruins in Madrid.
Palacio Real

Library in El Escorial - This is by far my favorite library in all of Spain. Not only is the room beautiful but it has some of the most amazing and rare books ever! SIMPLY AMAZING PLACE!

Don Quixote de la Mancha meets Don Timoti del Lago Salado

House where Miguel Cervantes was born

Travel before Oviedo - France

Today marks 19 days since my summer adventure began. The days leading up to leaving were very busy with papers, graduation, grading and moving out of my apartment. I spend the first few days in Madrid with some friends (Patrick and Mark). We did some days trips to Aranjuez and Alcala de Henares. After having a wonderful time in the Madrid area we went to Paris where we saw the major sites and enjoyed a week of French food and fun. Then (as you can see from my first posting) we went to Marrekesh Morocco. This was my second visit to Morocco, but it still had that exotic enticement and energy that makes it a unique place.

Today I start my job in Oviedo, Spain, as the assistant for the study aboard program organized by the University of Utah. I really like the people I'll be working with and it looks like it will be a wonderful summer.

Morocco

I’m currently in Marrakech, Morocco. The daylight is fading and there is a pleasantly cool desert breeze wafting the sounds and smells of the medina through the window. It’s the end of a day full of adventure and exploring and a perfect time to kick off your shoes, check to see how sunburnt your nose is, download your pictures and write down your thoughts from the day. One thing that I have noticed when I travel is that even with all our different cultures, religions, costumes, foods, clothing and ways, we humans are still very similar; we love our friends and family, we feel, we suffer, we laugh, we cry and we die, but above all we live, and that can and should be the thing that links us all.

I hope you are happy and healthy wherever you are and that you are doing your fair share of living.

Saludos, Besos y Abrazos
